Yes, I did put the tree up last Thursday, but what with managing my Christmas Pop up shop, running errands, and having a life, I am only just posting now. (Those of you who kindly read the last post would understand this statement).
This year, I decided to go for Christmas decorations, that do more than just look pretty, because, come the 1st of January (or when ever it is, that you take your Christmas tree down) all decorations get put away until the following year. Imagine the fun, or extra things to look forward too, when you take your decorations off the tree, and are able to Eat, or use them. In a way, they are additional little pressies, but you have to wait , because you still want the tree to look nice when you have guests around, or put it by the window. In this world of instant gratification, I think, this process of waiting and anticipating for something, is nicely rewarded…
At the top of my tree is still a star, but it contains a useful nail polish by No7 from Boots.
http://www.boots.com/ £7.00ext tier on the tree contains more treats for January to help me get over the festive season, that I might need another holiday for, but since I will have to go back to work, these mini sizes of goodies will make a ease me gently into the new year.
Relax in the bath with Molton brown’s bubble bath, they come in 6 varieties, and I think my favourite will be the Elderflower.

Feel glamorous, with this intensively red nail polish from Liz Earle.

These Crabtree & Evelyn travel size hand creams will be perfect for my bag, (one of the few things I have to have, if ever stranded on an Island!) – and the tin is so nice, it will be sitting along side my other collections of nice tins.

I will be renewing my skin after the holidays with this Scrub combo which is perched nicely on my tree.

This Lip and nail tint from Ted Baker, look pretty on my tree, and the colours are quite neutral, so suitable for any shade.

The next two layers down, are Just Food, Food, FOOD! peppered with the old bubble bath here and there.
For the sweet tooth in me, I added these Crabtree & Evelyn bubbles. They contain boiled sweets, but not any odd boring flavours! instead they contain Mulled Wine,Cranberry & Peppermint Drops. Best buy date is Nov 2016 , so I can take my time with them.

And for the Gourmet, more savoury and healthy side of me, I am decorating with these natural Hessian bags that contain 3 pairs of nut balls, with flavours such as calming Vanilla , Cinnamon which helps balance blood sugar, Coconut known to be great for energy, and raw 90% Chocolate (dairy free). These will make amends for all my food indulgences over the Christmas period! (NOT!), but there are delicious. My favourite is the cinnamon roll (Yep, I tried one, when I first got them) – They stay intact for 6 months.

And finally, to heighten the Christmas scent, I am using these scented sticks, which I came across, at John Lewis’s ‘Christmas in July’ event. I particularly like the White winter fur, because they smell like fresh pine trees. All you need is one stick to get the smell effect, and it permeates the whole room, especially if you place it on your radiator whilst heated.

This is the end result, unfortunately, my amateur photography skills, didn’t capture a good picture on the day. However, the present buying has moved on at a faster pace than when this was taken.(But not to fast or too manyaway from these ones in the picture)
I am going to enjoy using all the decorations in the new year, especially the ones that are new to my world. I suppose having them in small sizes, is a nice way to experiment with products that I perhaps would not normally buy. All decorations are still available in the stores now, apart from the Crabtree & Evelyn balls with sweets, so if you feel like mixing it up a bit on your Christmas tree, you can still do so.
Wishing you all a very merry and blessed Christmas holidays…..
Ding Dong……. and I’m out.
